Umdloti Beach

Umdloti on the KZN North Coast

Umdloti Beach is a small coastal town situated just 10km north of Umhlanga. The town is situated midway between Umhlanga and Ballito and it is a coastal conservancy area.

Umdloti is surrounded by sugar cane fields and lovely indigenous forests, making the area an ideal location for bird watchers, who would appreciate the many species of birds and other small wildlife in the area.

Any coastal town is made by it’s beaches and Umdloti is no exception. There are three beautiful beaches in Umdloti, with the main beach being manned by lifeguards on a daily basis. There is also a large natural tidal pool allowing for safe swimming for smaller children, with plenty to keep the kids busy in the exposed rock pools at low tide.

There is also much to keep one busy in and around Umdloti, with plenty of outdoor activities such as rock and surf fishing, swimming, surfing, microlight flights, horse riding etc. Indoor activites, such as restaurants, pubs, shops etc can all be found in the town. Don’t forget that Gateway Shopping centre is just a short drive away as well as Sibaya Casino, with all its restaurants, shops and entertainment.

Umdloti Beach is a popular holiday destination with a large number of self-catering holiday chalets and houses, B&B’s and Guesthouses, many of which are beachfront properties with direct access to the beach.
